Ah, I can only take partial credit for drawing a letterbox in a circle and colouring them in. The rest goes to Mr Gill for the typeface (I know!, it is not heavy enough for London Underground but I'm blowed if I can locate my full set of Gill Sans weights).
You should arrange some undertakers to supervise the event, in case anyone ends up dying of bliss due to the exquisite combination of typewriters with beer.
I love the underground-inspired type-in graphic! I wish I were there.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant graphic, Rob! Best of luck with it!

ReplyDeleteEric Gill led an 'interesting' life, if "Just My Type" is to be believed.
DeleteHe was quite a lad, yes. He made another really lovely book typeface which he named after his daughter, Johanna.
DeleteBrilliant! I'll add this graphic to the announcement on typosphere.net.
ReplyDeleteAnd by the way, I really am enjoying living this month in an atmosphere full of Gill Sans instead of Helvetica.
Fantastic! I love the last line.
ReplyDeleteWe have Mr Polt to thank for the copy.
