'if they start to become too valuable that defeats the object' I so agree with that point. Typewriters are so beautiful, and can last forever (or as good as), unlike the disposable electronic three year life span VDUs people crave now. Typewriters are real and we should all be able to enjoy them.

If you can find one in your price range, you will never regret getting it. A 3000 will quickly become your favorite for actually typing. (:
