I've been doing the same thing in southwest Wisconsin. Wild grape juice, red cabbage sourkraut, lots of tomato sauce, pickled beets,and more - my first time for much of it. So is there a connection in there somewhere to typewriters? Hadn't thought about typing the labels though - good idea! Thanks for sharing your creativity!
I suppose I'm the connection but I can't think of many better uses for a typewriter than labeling jam jars. Plain 80gsm white copier typed (preferably on a tabulating machine), cut out and glued onto cool jars with Pritt Stick.
Mmmm ... I think the connection to typewriters, aside from the labels, is the joy of doing something slowly and right -- savoring the process as well as the product.
