Gotta love those lifetime warranties. That is the reason that for over a quarter century I used nothing but Electro-Voice microphones at home, on the road, and in many radio stations. Send them back and get a brand new one in return. Now E-V is owned by a money company and no longer honors or has a lifetime warranty. My Zippos and Leatherman does though.
Sad when a favorite tool is damaged, but good when a manufacturer stands behind their product. Victorinox treated me similarly, a Swiss Army knife main blade snapped when cutting carpet for disposal, mailed it off, and a week or two later I had a brand new replacement. I have the Leatherman Juice as well, I had to replace it when one was nicked from my backpack. : ( Sadly Leatherman has no felony clause in the lifetime guarantee, it was out of pocket(tool) for the new one.
Correction: Leatherman's Warranty is only good for 25 years. The question is, is that 25 years from Original Purchase or 25 years from new replacement?

ReplyDeleteSo that's what a Leatherman is! I did wonder what you and Teeritz were talking about. :)

ReplyDelete"Leatherman" Hmm, that has a very 'Village People' vibe...
