Very nice typewriter. And the little "tooth" in the back of every slug, ensures that the type doesn't get any damage from striking in the back of another that's already in typing position. Unfortunately, this kind of protection is not so common, and many typewriters which lack it and have been heavily used, show damaged types.
Nice pickup! Interesting shell design, unlike any Brothers I've encountered yet. These little guys aren't the greatest-sounding machines, but they're awfully handy to have around :D

ReplyDeleteWell, I suppose if an absence of smell is a new typewriter smell, then yes! The strongest whiff is from the platen - it smells faintly of a bike shop.

That's interesting to know. My sloppy typing technique can cause this to happen occasionally.

ReplyDeleteI have one with a different name in similarly clean condition (though not quite) but it reeks of cigarette smoke!
ReplyDeleteThe design of the badge and the plastic insert would make this an especially easy typewriter to re-brand for big retailers.
