The staff of life

  1. One of the first "Asterix" books I read was about coming to Britain and I still recall all the running gags about warm beer.
I m only just easing into beer, so I still prefer pilsners and lagers. Not yet accustomed to the bitter end of the scale.

  2. I find most good beers are much more flavorful at or about room temperature, not warm, but just cool. I grew up sneaking my grandfather's beer which he seldom kept in the refrigerator. I guess it is the German part of my heritage. Most American beers are terrible unless really cold to cover for the mass production and low alcohol content.

Your beer reviews are making me thirsty. I think I will have a Yeungling.
