It is possible to fit these without removing the base from the typewriter but it is a lot easier if you do.

    1. That day when I happened to be in a big enough hardware shop and remembered the right size of grommet was, let's face it, never going to come to pass. Amazon's so handy!

  2. That's exactly what I used on the last 2 Rockets I re-shoed. I ended up just buying an assortment to keep on-hand. They work well for a lot of typewriter applications. (:

  3. Those are great for replacing the worn-out rubber bushings underneath Olympia SM models, too. I think my assortment pack came from an auto-parts store.

  4. Another fine use for some grommets. I've used them in Skyriters myself.
